Reno Photographer | Rock City { Personal }

Let’s face it. I don’t get out much. Life may seem all glam and fun games for your Reno photographer, but truthfully, I’m so absorbed in my children, my family and my business so the thought of taking anymore time away from them sometimes terrifies me (and at times sounds blissful)! Well, lo and behold, I found myself in Detroit last week for the annual TEAMS sports conference and wow, was Detroit gorgeous! I really had a fantastic time speaking with potential new clients, exploring a tiny bit of downtown Detroit and eating a lot of delicious foods. Mmmm!

I was so surprised at the beauty in Detroit! The fall colors were amazing, everyone I encountered was so polite and genuine, the food and drink were excellent and the scenery was amazing. The time difference (EST, so 3 hours for me) certainly kicked my behind as I laid in bed until 2am and 2:30am each night (errrrrr, morning). I definitely enjoyed my little bit of time spent in Detroit last week and it was nice to have a change of scenery. I got the opportunity to meet two fellow photographers who drove into Detroit to have appetizers with me before my client schedule began (thanks Rhonda and Natty!!), ate gobs of incredible foods from Fishbone’s, Texas de Brazil, London Chop House and Joe Muer Seafood and met a lot of really incredible people during the course of the week. I’m certain I gained about 16 pounds last week and if you follow me on Instagram (huongforrest), you’ll understand why!

All in all, it was a great little trip and I’d love to have more time to explore Detroit on my next visit! Here are some photos of my trip to Detroit, both with my camera, my iPhone and also, a snippet of a video of the awesome band that played at the closing party (Fifty Amp Fuse)! And if this just left you wanting more travel stories, then you have to read up on my fellow photographer friend, Ally’s recent travels!
