Reno Photographer | Red
My fellow photographers and I are trying to get back in the swing of everything blog-worthy! It’s getting to be quite a busy season already, but we want to continue this amazing blogging journey as it’s so much fun to see how we each interpret the different topics. This week, we’re diving into a sea of red and blogging about, well, red. Red is my absolute favorite color. Long before I knew about red lipstick and wearing the Kansas City Chiefs’ red and gold, red was a color that was magnetic to me. Now that I’m an adult, I have a better understanding as to why the color red has always been such a draw for me: passion. I think it’s pretty safe to say how very passionate I am about everything I choose to do in life. And for me, the color red is a great symbol of that, so my interpretation of this week’s topic of red is as PASSION. And I bet you thought I was going to include photos of everything red, like this red square below, right?
Well, not quite. Interestingly enough, my passion and the red that symbolizes it comes also in the form of black, green and bling. If you’re a friend on Facebook, or you follow me on any of my social media platforms, you’ll know I dived into this crazy wrap thing fully in January and have never once looked back. My photography business has always been a way for me to ultimately do what I am most passionate about–capturing all those special moments from birth to “I do”–but to do so on my time frame and in a manner that would allow me to be the best mother and wife I could possibly be. When this passion for black, bling and green fell into my lap, I took the bull by the horns and wrote out a few goals I would like to accomplish with this additional business venture in 2013: 1. Hit the rank of Ambassador Diamond 2. Pay off all credit card debts 3. Take our first real family vacation, paid for in cash 4. Pay off my car 5. Magic number 40.
Sounds quite crazy, right? Well, this weekend, we crossed off one of the goals on that list: we paid off the remaining balance on my vehicle with my April commission check! This item was not due to be off my list until December or January! It is the most liberating feeling in the whole world and it’s like a huge weight has been lifted off my shoulders. This is what PASSION is all about for me. This is what the color red symbolizes in my life. Everything I set my mind to doing, I WILL do. I have huge, audacious goals for the remainder of this year and I will achieve them because with the passion and fire inside me for what I am doing and where this will take my family and my photography business is absolutely unthinkable. I will not let anything or anyone hold me back, or stand in my way, so watch out!
Do you dream big? What COLOR do you dream in and how do YOU interpret today’s topic of red? Leave a comment below to tell me! That’s my spin on the color red this week! Head over to my friend Christine’s blog to see where she went with this week’s topic on red! I can’t wait to read all about this!
