Reno Maternity Photographer | Lindsay { Expecting }

I LOVE winter and I’m pretty sure I’ve mentioned that on several other wintery occasions on a blog post here and there before. Now don’t get me wrong, I love summer, too, but there’s a certain beauty about winter that I’ve always been drawn to (don’t forget I’m a winter baby, too). And fresh snowfall? Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!! I’m a sucker for it! I *had* to take advantage of this incredible snowfall we recently had, so I enlisted this brave and beautiful mama to venture into the cold with me for this winter maternity session. The snow was so fresh and only the tracks we made were to be seen on this day. Everything was so peaceful, calm and serene. Not a single other person was out on this morning and it was just am amazing sight. I love how the slight breeze during portions of our session made the snow on the trees fall ever so into the frame. It was perfect and I’m pretty sure I was jumping with excitement during our session when it happened. Or maybe I was jumping because I was cold and couldn’t feel a thing, but don’t remind this beautiful mama of the cold!

My hats off to her and her amazing spirit for doing this and cooperating with my vision. Lindsay never documented her pregnancy with her first child this way, so it was a fun way for her to celebrate this time around. I had the great pleasure of photographing her son’s newborn portraits a couple of years ago and couldn’t be more excited for this pregnancy. She and her husband make beautiful babies! And boy or girl? It’s going to be a complete surprise this time around, but congratulations, Lindsay! I’m so happy for you and your beautiful family.

Below is a glimpse of our incredible morning together and some of my absolute favorite maternity portraits ever. What do you think? Can you feel the cold? Or maybe the calm and serenity of a beautiful winter morning? If you’re expecting and would love to document your journey to motherhood (and it doesn’t have to be in the middle of the forest in two feet of snow either), contact me for details. Maternity sessions are only booked with a newborn session, but I’d love to discuss atnewborn portraits and mernity portraits with you. Just send an email to shootme@huongforrest.com for more information.
